Landscape and Planting Plans
Planting Plan
This service is ideal for both new and existing homes where garden beds are already established and hard landscaping elements, such as decking, paving, and fencing, have been completed.
Whether you plan to undertake the planting yourself or engage a landscaper to carry out the work, a detailed planting plan provides a clear roadmap for implementation.
Your planting plan will show the exact location of each plant and include a comprehensive plant schedule outlining the varieties and quantities required. Artful Gardens can also source and supply all recommended plants at competitive rates.
The cost of a planting plan depends on the size and complexity of the project. Get in touch for a quote.

Step by Step Process
To ensure your tastes, needs and lifestyle are reflected in the final result, we follow a clear step-by-step process for every landscape and planting plan.
1) Site Visit
On-site consultation with Artful Gardens to discuss your ideas, style preferences, budget and maintenance requirements.
Site assessment, including wind exposure, soil conditions, drainage and privacy considerations.
Measurement of the design area.
2) Concept Plan
Within 7 days of our initial meeting, you will receive a fully illustrated concept document outlining planting and material ideas for each garden bed. This combines your vision with our expertise and the unique opportunities of your site.
We then meet again (in person, by phone, or online) to review your feedback and refine the plant and material selections.
3) Planting Plan
From here, Artful Gardens develops a scaled base plan and detailed planting plan, including plant placement, species selection and any key material specifications.
The final plan is presented for review, changes if required and delivered ready for implementation.
4) Quotes
Following completion of the planting plan, our preferred landscaper or yours can provide an itemised quote for the installation of your design. This includes the cost of plants and materials. We work with a range of trusted wholesalers and retailers throughout New Zealand to ensure quality plant stock and products along with competitive pricing.
5) Project Management
During the construction of your garden, we like to oversee the entire process, contractor coordination and ongoing communication to ensure the workmanship meets our design intent.
6) Installation Support
To ensure the design is created as intended, Artful Gardens will visit the site during installation to assist with plant placement and ensure the final outcome aligns with the design vision.
7) Maintenance Schedule
Once your garden is complete, you will receive a maintenance guide outlining how to care for your new garden.
8) 5-Month Check-In
After 5 months, we return for a complimentary check-in to review progress, answer any questions and assess whether any plants require replacement or additional care.
